It seems that the very talented artist are the first to take flight. So in honor of my favorite European addict musician, Sounds that Work will be my favorite song from the late Amy Winehouse. Rest in peace my dear, we miss already.

I love dark, slightly depressing music to work to. It’s the only form of sound that gets me to focus [laid back, eccentric sounds work too]. So its not surprising that I flocked this guy.

The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) is a Toronto-based Indie singer. I think its refreshing in a an RnB category with narrow and quite honestly mediocre sounds & lyrics. His mixtape House of Balloons  is surely the beginning of many great dark and lusty albums to come.

If you haven’t got it already, visit his website for the mixtape: http://the-weeknd.com/

So as I said before, I have alot to do as far as catching you all up. So let’s get into it.

A frequent client of mine created a documentary entitled ‘The Shadow Behind The Rainbow’. The film attempts to capture the depth of the Human Rights Movement from the perspective of Black Queer Women and allies who are active in the fight for social justice. It chronicles the movement from past to present day, highlighting those lost faces and voices, but also shedding light on the various forms of activism that exist within the movement.

In need of a flyer, I lent some assistance.

If you’re in the Atlanta area on July 19th, please go check it out at Charis Bookstore in Little 5 Points. It truly is a doc. that needs to be seen by all. Click here for more information on the event and the filmmaker.
